Transforming the teaching space…

St Nicholas Chantry is a rapidly expanding Primary School that needed a new audio-visual system – OpusStudio was the product of choice.

In December 2016 St Nicholas Chantry started to use the new system for assemblies to play music, display song words, and show video clips. In addition, staff increasingly began to use it to enrich the curriculum.

Peter Treasure-Smith, Headteacher, explains: “Even those of us who are self-confessed technophobes are using it on a regular basis after only an hour’s training. Staff have quickly grown in confidence with it and we are really starting to explore its full potential.”

Staff recognised that OpusStudio would open up a range of new opportunities and enable pupils and teachers to use their imagination and creativity. Dominic Cooper, Head of Year 6, says: “Opus expanded the curriculum opportunities in our school hall. It goes way beyond the small scale digital and audio systems available within a classroom.”

OpusStudio is simple to use and the investment is producing unexpected financial benefits. The system has also helped to save money, as Dominic explains: “The PTA recently used it for the school Christmas disco. Normally they hire in a DJ but, because Opus has a lighting rig with it – which can be pre-set – one of the parents was able to run the whole disco from his phone which saved us about £150.”

OpusStudio is showcasing untapped creativity and enriching the curriculum, transforming the teaching space.
