Opus in a Studio

OpusQuintet transforms your drama studio into a flexible and inclusive performance space.

Changing the colour of a light takes only the press of a button… no more hunting for a ladder, only to find your gel is split. With an adaptable grid, your lights can stay fixed in place or be moved regularly to achieve the perfect position.

The OpusHub offers simple control of lighting and sound, with music and effects operated from a laptop, CD or even a phone.

The ease of use means students become lighting and sound designers for their own production, widening their experience and deepening their understanding of technical performance.

Opus is designed and built by performance solutions company Stage Electrics. We’ve put 40 years’ experience of working with the likes of The Royal Shakespeare Company and Covent Garden Opera House into every Opus system we make.

  • Projector, Screen, 2 Speakers and 12 lights
    • Choose from one of three widescreen format LED Laser DLP projectors to get the perfect one for your OpusQuintet. A pair of speakers, providing clear, crisp sound and great response. Choose your combination of Spots and washes, bring colour & atmosphere to every lesson and performance.
  • Overhead Suspension Grid
    • A permanently installed grid in the roof of the space. The power, video data, lighting data and sound is distributed to the lights, speakers and projector of the OpusQuintet through the grid. A grid offers an incredible variety of hanging points allowing for experimentation and creativity in lighting positions.
  • Perimeter Curtain Track and Stage Curtains
    • Stage curtains add to a studio, providing wings and movable entrances. They can also change the feel of the room making it feel more like a theatre space.
  • OpusDock
    • The heart of the OpusQuintet, providing connection to the OpusHub, patching and power monitoring. This distributes the power and data throughout the OpusQuintet.
  • OpusHub
    • A simple to use complete sound, lighting & video presentation control system. This provides quick, user friendly control of the video, sound and lighting elements of the OpusQuintet.
